My 8 most anticipated books to read in 2025!

Updated: 4 days ago

My goal for 2024 was to get control of my TBR - but alas - there were far too many great books to read and not enough time. I'll be taking my ever growing TBR with me into the new year (#bookdragon).

How do you tackle your TBR?

The left side of my brain demands that I tackle my TBR in order of when I acquired the books, the left side prefers to follow the vibe of how I feel when I reach for a new book.

Here are the books coming out in 2025 that Left Brain can't wait to read (Right Brain lists and orders, be damned! Sincerely, Left Brain)

  1. “Onyx Storm” by Rebecca Yarros, Jan. 21

Like the rest of the world, I can't wait to dive back into Yarros fantasy world of dragon riders and venin.

  2. “Scythe and Sparrow” by Brynne Weaver, Feb 11

    1. Despite this author RUINING ice cream and pizza for me (IYKYK), these books are so fun and different that I can't wait to see Rose and Fionn's story,

  3. “Say You’ll Remember Me” by Abby Jimenez, April 1

    1. I will never skip an Abby Jimenez book! Her character building is top notch and the HEA believable

  4. “Great Big Beautiful Life” by Emily Henry, April 22

    1. Another author whose new releases I eagerly await. Henry's books are always funny, quirky, and charming

  5. “Matriarch” by Tina Knowles, April 22

    1. Oh, hell, yeah! I am sat, Ms. Tina!

  6. “My Friends” by Fredrik Backman, May 20

    1. I loved "Anxious People", it made me laugh and cry. Bachman captures the complexities and simplicity of our everyday interactions expertly. I will be expecting more well written relationships in "My Friends"

  7. “Atmosphere” by Taylor Jenkins Reid, June 3

    1. Reid is right up there with Henry and Jimenez that I won't skip. Buzz is that this one is her best yet, dethroning Daisy Jones (one of my all time favorites).

  8. “The Woman in Suite 11” by Ruth Ware, July 3

    1. I know, I know, I am saying this a lot, but Ruth Ware is another, another, never miss. I met her last year at the Savannah Book Festival and she was delightful! So of course I'll be reading my close personal friend, new releases.

That's it for my 2025 must read list - share your most anticipated reads for 2025 in the comments below!
